ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Board of Commissioners has once again reordered its legal counsel.
In September, the board voted to remove County Prosecutor Lauren Wickman as its primary counsel, in favor of attorney Scott Graham. At Tuesday evening’s Commission meeting, that motion was rescinded in a three-to-two vote.
The commissioners then voted unanimously to restructure their counsel. The board will first go to the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority. Then, County Administrator Ashleigh Young will determine whether the board should go to Wickman or Graham on a case-by-case basis. According to a state statute, Young must still get the board’s approval before consulting an attorney other than Wickman.
