MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A local clothing brand whose idea started in Cleveland, Ohio has made its way to the UP. Alec Houston, the owner of the apparel company “Cut Throat Kids”, followed his passion for skiing and snowboarding up to Marquette.
In his sophomore year at Northern Michigan University, he launched the clothing line. Houston says opening a business was intimidating, but he hopes to give the “cutthroat business” lifestyle a different outlook.
“I heard it getting used in a lot more terms you know cut throat business cut throat industry but no matter what I noticed it carried the same weight, and as far as the kids it’s all about balancing that with keeping the childlike youthful spirit and I’d like to think that I see that in everybody, live your dreams and pick your passion,” commented Houston. .
