MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Some Marquette history is making its way to the bus route. Since 2012, the Marquette Regional History Center has hosted bus tours filled with stories of history, featuring characters from our history like Teddy Roosevelt.
The 90-minute bus ride travels through multiple eras, looking at historic homes, the Park Cemetery, and the Lakefront. Organizers say the participants who are dressing up as a character, develop the costumes and script, themselves.
“The best part about the bus tours is that we’re bringing past characters to life now some of these individuals may be actual people who lived here some are manufactured you’re guaranteed to have fun and you’re guaranteed to learn something,” commented Marquette Regional History Center Executive Director Kris Osier.
The history center is hosting 8 tours throughout the day, 4 in the afternoon and 4 in the evening.
