Sound of Freedom rings through U.P. theaters

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Sound of Freedom, a movie that shines light on the horrible reality of human trafficking, is now showing in theaters across the Upper Peninsula.

With a goal to stress the severity of human trafficking, and to help people recognize the signs of someone who may be being trafficked, The Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force (UPHTTF) has worked hard to get Sound of Freedom into U.P. theaters.

“Sometimes we think we are safe from these horrible crimes living here in the Upper Peninsula,” says Kerri Schuiling, a member of the UPHTTF board. “But sadly, we’re not, we are not at all so don’t even begin to think for one minute that it doesn’t occur here, because it does.”

The Sound of Freedom will continue to play until Saturday, July 15th at Roger’s Cinema in Houghton along with Thomas Theater Group locations in Marquette, and Quinnesec. Thomas Theater Group Escanaba will continue showing until Friday, July 20th.

To try and get as many people to watch the movie as possible, tickets for this film will be sold at a discounted price of $5.

For more information on showtimes visit Marquette Cinemas website, or the nearest participating theaters website.
