MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Restaurant week is almost over, you’ve only got a couple more chances to go out to get this weeks special menus.
All week, The Portside Inn has had week night dinner specials. Rachel Fay, owner of Portside Inn said Portside is getting ready to celebrate it’s 40 year anniversary, and it’s been a great week seeing people take the opportunity to go out to eat and try something new.
“I think the melting snow has certainly helped people get out and get a little sunshine,” said Fay, “anything that gets people out we’re thrilled with.”
You still have the chance to take advantage of some of Portsides deals. Through Saturday night the daily special will still be available for $23, that includes Portsides ‘not so traditional’ ceasar salad and a medium two topping pizza.
“Of course pizza is a popular special.” Fay said, “We’ve already had a lot of people coming in and ordering the portside pizza because we make everything from scratch.”
Fay said that with NMU on spring break, it’s been great to see more Marquette locals coming out to support local restaurants.
“When NMU students leave for break a lot of the town population thins out and it’s a better time for the locals to come out,” Fay explained “there’s less wait time and you get to your table quicker and it just reminds everyone to come out and support your local businesses.”
Restaurant weeks deals will still be happening through Saturday night, so you still have a couple more chances to try out the special menus before the week wraps up.
