MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday, the Marquette County Board of Commissioners approved allocating $100,000 to Marquette’s Room at the Inn for infrastructure upgrades.
The money donated comes from a larger $13 million grant received by Marquette county from the American Rescue Plan Act. With the money donated towards RATI, RATI will be able to fix the outside of their building, the building’s boiler and make sure that everything is ADA compliant.
“We had to relocate our guests for a night while we had our boiler worked on,” Cori Bodeman, board member of RATI, said. “It’s time for a new one so this couldn’t have come at a better time, it was a great Christmas present.”
Bodeman said that while the grant will help with infrastructure upgrades, additional donations are always appreciated. Volunteers are also always welcome to come and help at the RATI.
