MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette County Conservation District is holding its annual event and elections. It’s happening at Barrel+Beam right now through 8 p.m. The guest speaker from the u-s fish and wildlife service will be presenting on “Brook Trout Conservation and Habitat Restoration in tributaries to Lake Superior.”
Attendees will be electing officer positions tonight, as well as learning about the work the Conservation District has done in the past year.
Maddie O’Donnell district manager of Marquette County Conservation District, “This year we were able to do a lot of work expanding native pollinators habitat in the region so we had a variety of projects that were dedicated to getting new native plants into the ground that will give better food for pollinators and make better habitat for them.”
All who attend the event will be given a free raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes while learning more about what lies ahead for 2023.
