NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Negaunee man is in jail after police suspect him of two attempted, unarmed robberies.
The Negaunee Police Department said it happened Wednesday, Sept. 21 around 4:30 p.m.
Officers were called to an unarmed robbery attempt at Embers Credit Union in Negaunee. As officers were arriving to the bank, a second unarmed robbery attempt was reported at Super One Foods in Negaunee. Embers Credit Union and Super One Foods are located next to each other.
A 58-year-old man was found and arrested on suspicion of both attempted robberies. He is currently at the Marquette County Jail pending arraignment.
NPD said no employees at either location were harmed, and no money or other property was stolen.
The Negaunee City Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Ishpeming City Police Department.
