MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new condominium is being proposed in the City of Marquette, and construction could begin as soon as next year following Tuesday night’s decision by the city planning commission.
The commission passed a proposal from the city engineer for a new street network design for a future development site. The site is located north of the Division St. and M-553 intersection.
The commissioners approved the new proposed roadways with a 6-1 vote, which allows the city engineer to now begin making other design plans for the site.
“Once they provide us an updated set of plans, we’ll review those and then we will pursue permitting, and then we can get started with the road and utility construction,” said Mikael Kilpela, city engineer.
The planning commission will need to meet again to discuss and vote on the possible building designs for the area.
