Trump’s Latest Appointees for His Second Administration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President-Elect Donald Trump has made several appointments to fill key positions in his new administration. Many of the new appointees include key allies and staunch defenders of the President-Elect.

Campaign officials, former Trump administration personnel, as well as former and current lawmakers are just some of the people who will see a role in a new Trump administration.

Two days after his victory, the President-Elect announced campaign manager Susie Wiles as his new Chief of Staff. She’ll be the first female appointed to that position.

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director, Tom Homan, will be Trump’s “border czar.” This position will not need Senate confirmation. Trump also appointed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R- NY) to serve as ambassador to the United Nations. That position will require Senate approval.

It was announced Monday afternoon that former New York Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin will lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Additionally, Stephen Miller will be Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff for policy. Miller was a senior advisor in Trump’s first term.

There is also speculation about a government efficiency commission headed by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk. Former Independent presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is also expected to have some type of role in shaping health policy in the new administration.

The list of candidates for Attorney General, Secretary of State, Defense, the Treasury and other top cabinet positions is getting shorter. Announcements on those key cabinet positions are expected in the coming days and weeks.

President-Elect Trump will meet with President Joe Biden at the White House this Wednesday to discuss the transition.
