The Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force is highlighting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ theme for 2024: activating connections. The UPHTTF says it will also focus on making and strengthening connections with local law enforcement, various businesses and industries, and career professionals for ways to not only identify potential victims of trafficking but provide them the support they need afterward as well.
The UPHTTF is hosting upcoming training sessions at Northern Michigan University on Monday, Jan. 29 for first responders to learn more about treating survivors of trafficking. It is a free event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more, click here.
