HOUGHTON, MICH. (WZMQ) – Two campers were found dead at Isle Royale National Park on Sunday. The individuals have since been identified.
The two individuals were discovered at South Lake Desor Campground, located within the park. Their next of kin have been notified of their deaths. There is no known threat to the public at this time.
Due to the remote location of the campground near Greenstone Ridge trail, a fixed-wing aircraft and a helicopter were used to assist with transportation for the investigation. This investigation is ongoing.
