Tree-Ripe Fruit Co. making first of two summer trips to U.P.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Fresh peaches are making their way back to the U.P.

Based out of Milwaukee, Tree-Ripe Fruit Co. travels throughout the Midwest each summer delivering an assortment of fresh items to each stop. The company makes two trips through the Upper Peninsula each summer, bringing Georgia pecans, New Mexico pistachios, and their best seller, Georgia peaches.

Owner and CEO, Tiernan Paine, says this season is turning out to be a good one. “In my opinion, this year has been the best peach crop out of the south I can ever remember seeing,” he said. Staying true to the company name, these peaches are available much sooner than they would be from a grocery store.

“We pick and pack in the morning, and ship that day. The next day, its up to us and its going on our trucks. So, in the U.P., they’re going to be getting peaches that were literally on a tree three days ago,” said Paine. “It’s something that you can’t get anywhere else.”

Tree-Ripe Fruit Co. is stopping through Delta, Marinette and Menominee Counties on Friday, June 27. They will make stops on Saturday, June 28, at Marquette’s Westwood Mall from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in Ishpeming at the Country Village Ace Hardware from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and in Kingsford at the Ace Hardware from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (CST).
