M-28 shoulder rebuilding in Seney starts Oct. 4

SENEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Another road construction project begins soon on a portion M-28 in Schoolcraft County.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) begins work on rebuilding a half mile of shoulder on M-28 in Seney Township on Friday, Oct. 4. The $300,000 project extends from east of Grand St. to Grand Elk Railroad Crossing and includes trenching, aggregate base, and hot-mix asphalt surfacing.

Drivers should expect daytime lane closures on M-28. One lane will be open in each direction with traffic regulators. An 11-foot lane restriction will be in place during the project.

Construction is expected to be completed by Sunday, Oct. 20.
