UPDATE: Portion of US-2 in Schoolcraft County reopens after crash

SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The portion of roadway is open as of 6:20 p.m.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Manistique Outpost have concluded their investigation into a two-vehicle crash that occurred on May 20 at approximately 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of US-2 and County Road 432 in Doyle Township.

The investigation revealed that a pickup truck failed to yield to a semi-truck pulling a trailer, which was traveling eastbound on US-2. When the pickup pulled out onto US-2 from County Road 432, it crashed into the trailer of the semi-truck.

Non-life-threatening injuries were reported by the driver of the pickup, who was transported by Manistique EMS to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash. A small fuel spill from the crash was contained, and cleanup was completed.

MSP was assisted by the Doyle Township Fire Department and the Schoolcraft County Road Commission.
