It’s the holiday weekend, and folks across the U.P. will be greeted with sunny skies and cooler temperatures. Yesterday, the U.P. had over 20 reports of severe weather from points east to west and many places in between. The heat and humidity that triggered these storms has now moved off and mostly sunny skies with afternoon temperatures topping out around 70 can be expected for Saturday and Sunday. Showers will be possible Sunday night lingering into Monday as well. While models have most of the showers moving out in time time for fireworks Monday night, there are certainly no guarantees of no rain. Temperatures stay relatively cool for the beginning of next week and few chances for showers and possibly some thunderstorms could bug us for the midweek timeframe. Get out and enjoy the sunshine to start of your holiday weekend on the right note!
