NMU Men’s Basketball 2025-2026 Schedule

Wildcats will play three games in Puerto Rico

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Matt Majkrzak and the Northern Michigan men’s basketball team have announced their schedule for the 2025-26 season, which will include a return to Wisconsin Dells, 13 home games, and a trip to Puerto Rico.

Coming off a GLIAC Tournament title in 2024-25 and having won a GLIAC championship in each of the last three seasons, the Wildcats will aim to make it four straight heading into the new campaign.

NMU will return to Wisconsin Dells for the third straight season, where they hold a 5-1 record. On November 14 and 15, they will open the season with games against Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis. The team will be right back the following weekend to take on Northern State on November 21 and Northwest Missouri State on November 23.

The Wildcats will have their home opener on November 26 when they host Concordia (WI). On the 29th, NMU will welcome Minnesota Duluth to Vandament.

The first pair of GLIAC games will be on the road to start December with stops at Parkside on the 4th and Roosevelt on the 6th.

Northern will return home for non-conference action at the start of winter break, taking on Marian (WI) on December 14th.

A special trip awaits the Green and Gold after that. From December 19-21, the Wildcats will head to the Caribbean, playing three games in three days in Puerto Rico.

On New Year’s Day, NMU will host Davenport and follow that up with a matchup against Grand Valley State on January 3. The ‘Cats will have a brief one-game road trip up to Houghton to take on the Huskies on January 8 before returning home to contend with Ferris State on January 12.

The next five weeks will alternate between away and home games. On January 15 and 17, NMU will head to Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State. The ‘Cats will then be home on January 22 and 24 to take on Purdue Northwest and Wayne State. To close out January, Northern is on the road with stops at Grand Valley State on the 29th and Davenport on the 31st.

To open February, Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State will make stops in Marquette on the 5th and 7th, respectively. NMU is back on the road the following week to take on Wayne State on the 12th and Purdue Northwest on Valentine’s Day.

Three of the final four regular-season games will take place at Vandament Arena. It will start with a home game against Michigan Tech on February 19 before heading on the road with a visit to Ferris State on February 21.

The final weekend of the regular season returns home as the ‘Cats will host Roosevelt on February 26 and Parkside in the final on February 28 for Senior Day.
