The 2026 Michigan Primary: Meet the candidates for Lansing, D.C.

Election season is here, and WZMQ 19 is helping you get to know the candidates before you cast your ballot.

Ahead of Michigan’s Aug. 4 primary, we’ve been sitting down with candidates running in key races across the Upper Peninsula and northern Michigan, giving them the opportunity to speak directly to voters about the issues that matter most.

We’ll be publishing candidate profiles for races including:
• U.S. House (Michigan’s 1st Congressional District)
• State Senate (38th District)
• State House (108th, 109th and 110th Districts)

As interviews are completed, you’ll find them all collected here in one place. Check back throughout the coming days as we continue adding new candidate profiles leading up to Election Day.

Early in-person voting is already underway, with the primary election set for Aug. 4.
