Music in Manistique returns Wednesday, June 18

MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A summer concert series makes its return to Schoolcraft County this week.

This year’s Music in Manistique lineup kicks off on Wednesday, June 18. The event takes place weekly at 6:30 p.m. at the bandshell at 180 North Maple Street.

Raggae and variety artist Darrell Syria will be the first of many performers throughout the summer. From week to week, local talent will play music in a range of genres including folk, classic rock, and country. A DJ will take the stage for Kids Day on July 2, getting Independence Day weekend festivities off to an early start.

The concert series is put on by the Lake Effect Community Arts Center. Marketing Manager Katie Birdsley says Music in Manistique brings the community together in a beautiful part of town.

“We love that it is our scheduled outdoor time that we have to spend time in the sun and on the grass and enjoy the fresh air that we don’t get to when summer goes so quickly,” said Birdsley. “We’ve got a great season prepared.”

Music in Manistique continues through August 13. To see the full schedule of performers, visit the official event Facebook page.
