ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Partridge Creek Farm, in partnership with Marquette-Alger RESA and the MSU Extension Center, just announced that registration is now open for the upcoming 2025 Farm to School Institute.

The Farm to School Institute is a professional development opportunity designed to provide attendees with the knowledge, resources, and strategies necessary to implement successful farm-to-school initiatives in their communities. Attendees will have access to interactive workshops, hands-on sessions, and networking opportunities.

Participants will gain valuable insights into incorporating local food into school meals, integrating agriculture-based curriculum into classrooms, and fostering meaningful connections between students, food, and local producers. Abby Palmer, from the MSU Extension Center, believes understanding where food comes from is essential to a child’s education.

“Whether you’re an English teacher, an art teacher, a science teacher, no matter what your field is, you’re trying to teach about it. We can help you connect Farm to School Food and Where Food Comes From to your classroom,” Said Palmer.

Registration is also open for their “Farm to School” summer camp for kids.
