ST. IGNACE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: As of 5:37 p.m., the bridge has been reopened.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Following the weekend ice storm, the Mackinac Bridge is temporarily closed.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the bridge closed around 2:30 p.m. due to falling ice. The Mackinac Bridge Authority’s website also cites ice forming on the grating of the bridge.
