NMU Residence hosts ‘Pie your RA or RD’ for Pi Day

The Marquette Parks and Recreation advisory board today announced that they are now taking suggestions for items to be placed in the time capsule set to be buried this coming Fourth of July.

Recently opened time capsule from 1999.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday evening, to celebrate Spread Goodness Day and Pi Day, the NMU Residence Halls hosted a ‘Pie your RA or RD’ event in front of Maple West hall. Students paid one dollar or more, before slamming a pie in a resident advisor’s face.

“It’s so fun to see the community come together and have such a fun way to celebrate Pi Day,” said Shannon Lepak, an RA in Maple West. “And the fact that the money is going to charity; NMU is just so great community-wise.” The RA who is pied the most will get to pick which charity the money goes toward.

This event has been an annual tradition for a few years, gaining more popularity each time around.
