GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Seven people are facing multiple drug charges as part of an investigation into drug trafficking in the western Upper Peninsula.
In October, the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (GIANT) was investigating controlled substance trafficking in Gogebic and Iron Counties, including transporting and delivering methamphetamine.
The following people were arrested and charged:
Stephanie Wanden (Bessemer, MI): possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine in a park, maintaining a drug house
Lucas Johnson (Duluth, MN): delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine in a park
Cheyenne Chastain (Duluth, MN): possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine in a park, possession of methamphetamine, delivery of methamphetamine
Donald Morrison (Ironwood, MI): possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine in a park, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, felony OWI 3rd offense, operating while license suspended/revoked
Daniel Hecht (Bagley, WI): possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine
Teresa Neri (Ironwood, MI): possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (conspiracy), possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, bond violations
Kassy Double (Ironwood, MI): 3 counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, 4 counts of possession of methamphetamine in a park, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house
GIANT says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
GIANT was assisted by K9 Debwe, Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, Pine County MN Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Corrections, Richland Iowa Grant Drug Task Force, Wausau Police Department, and Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office.
