Insights: MSP shares the impact Camp STAR can have on a grieving child’s life

Camp STAR returns to Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay this August 9-11. Hosted by STAR Children’s Bereavement Services, the weekend summer camp provides children ages 8 to 17 with an opportunity to enjoy a fun weekend as part of their healing process after experiencing the loss of a loved one.

Michigan State Police troopers are often the first responders at the scene of a tragedy involving a child. Many troopers and other MSP employees go on to volunteer at Camp STAR to continue to be part of a child’s bereavement journey.

MSP’s Ashley Hernandez shares more about the impact Camp STAR can have on a child’s life.
