MDOT puts $2 million into Mackinac County bridge repairs

MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The I-75 bridge over Carp River, M-123 overpass at I-75, and the M-134 bridge over the Pine River in Mackinac County will be undergoing construction this year.

Repairs for the three bridges will start on April 17th beginning with the M-134 bridge and are estimated to end on November 8th.

During the M-134 bridge construction, one lane of alternating traffic will be open at all times using traffic signals and a temporary barrier wall. Traffic will be restricted to a 10-foot maximum width and a speed limit of 35 mph will be enforced in the construction zone.

The Michigan Department of transportation (MDOT) is investing about $2 million to repair these bridges epoxy overlay, deck painting, joint replacement, structure patching, railing repairs, beam, substructure, surface sealer, and approach work.
