Upper Peninsula Schools Awarded School Safety Grants

CLASSROOMS PREPARING FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

More than a dozen Upper Peninsula schools will receive a share of $10 million in state funding awarded to schools throughout Michigan to keep students safe in classrooms, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced Tuesday.

The money comes from the Competitive School Safety Grant Program (CSSGP).

The grants can be used to purchase equipment and/or technology to improve the safety and security of school buildings, students and staff.
